It’s FALL…..FINALLY!!! The cold chill in the mornings and at night is here and I have started craving warm and fattening foods…..it’s SO hard not to eat high calories foods in the fall and winter when I am chilled or freezing to death! These baked pears are a LIFE SAVER! They are super easy, pretty healthy, and quite yummy! The kids get so excited when I make them which makes me feel ecstatic that they love them as much as I do! Yes, they have bourbon on them and YES if you prefer to make it without please go ahead and omit it! It isn’t very much and when cooking it burns off but the bourbon really does give it a great flavor!
1 tbsp Maple Syrup
1 to 2 tsp Bourbon
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Nutmeg
1 tsp Ginger
1 tsp Ground Cloves
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place foil on a baking sheet and lightly spray. Mix together maple syrup and bourbon. Wash and cut pears in half. Scoop out the core. If the pears won’t lie flat, cut off a small part on the back of the pear. Place on the baking sheet and baste or drizzle the pears with maple syrup and bourbon mixture. Mix together the cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and sprinkle on the pears. Let it sit for 5 minutes or longer if you like! Cook in oven until tender, 12-14 minutes. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Any leftovers save in an airtight container in the fridge! They are great cold or reheated!
Hope you enjoy these as much as we do!
They are great on those days when you want something to warm your soul!
